EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Chappy’s extensive education and over 30 years experience in human movement and performance uniquely sets him apart from other practitioners. Dr. Chappy combines Western & Eastern physical medicine to improve mobility and rehabilitate injuries to a fully functional level. His goal is to help his clients be productive and energetic to meet the demands of daily life. Besides the traditional Eastern approach to acupuncture therapy, Chappy integrates a Western anatomical, biomedical approach to using acupuncture, trigger point therapy, manual, and movement therapy. His experience training himself and others for triathlons, CrossFit, running, rucking, bike racing, MMA, and similarly demanding athletic endeavors uniquely prepares him to assist serious athletes in realizing top performance while preserving peak immune function, and general good health.
Dr. Christopher Chapleau earned his Master of Acupuncture Medicine degree from the New York College of Health Professions in 2001. New York College of Health Profession’s Graduate School of Oriental Medicine consists of a 145-credit, nine-trimester, Acupuncture Program. Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Science and a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture. This Acupuncture program was the first in New York to be approved by the State Education Department and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing Acupuncture practitioners. This three to four-year program consists of 3,030 hours of education. The program includes 885 supervised hours of acupuncture training in their Academic Health Care Teaching Clinic. Chris was certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in 2001. Chris possesses his Doctorate in Acupuncture, awarded in 2019 from the Pacific College of Health Science. Chris has many acupuncture research publications in various reputable scientific journals.
Dr. Chris holds a Master of Science degree in Human Performance from Southern CT State University. He's certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, certified as an Integrative Manual Therapist and Human Movement Specialist through the Brookbush Institute, and has certifications in Functional Movement Screening I&II and Selective Movement Assessment I&II.
Dr. Chappy also holds various certifications in acupuncture medicine including Orthopedic & Sports Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation, NADA (community trauma), Acupuncture Injection Therapy, and Battlefield Acupuncture. He has many years of experience and holds certifications in Western and Eastern herbal medicine from the Twin Star School of Herbal and Energetic Studies, New Milford, CT., and is certified in Kampo herbal medicine from the NYC Kampo Institute under Nigel Dawes. None of these licenses, certificates, or registrations has ever been suspended or revoked.
His clinic complies with the rules and regulations determined by the Colorado Department of Public Health, including proper cleaning, sterilization, and sanitation of acupuncture medical supplies and facilities. The clean Needle Technique is practiced using only single-use, disposable, factory-sterilized needles. Dr. Chappy has his Clean Needle Technique certification from the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.
